Need heating advice for garage

Im looking for some input as to heating options for my garage in picking out something that will work for what I need and wont need to be upgraded or replaced. Given that, I want to remain cost effective. I have space now to work in there and I want to be able to utilize it.

My garage is a 10x20. As far as I know my options are; propane, electric, or kerosene. I cannot run natural gas to the other side of the house.

:(

How about a stove. I have known people make one from odd bits kicking around one guy I know uses a old large calor gas bottle shaped into a stove with old drainpipe running outside. Obviously its not as nice as a proper stove but keeps his workshop cosey.

To heat a 20' x 10' garage will cost a fortune with whatever fuel you use.

You could try a cheap infra-red heater pointed at yourself.

    This.

    Heat yourself, not the garage.

Yes a halogen type heater pointing directly at you would be best.

You could do a cheap and chearful insulation job yourself using large polystyrene sheets and plywood or similar on top. Polystyrene is the cheapest but you can get a lot better similar stuff too

how well sealed is the garage, ie do you need to worry about carbon monoxide? Also want to be careful with hot surfaces if you are using a lot of paints etc in the garage due to fire risk
