Damage being claimed for from accident

We're already with a different insurers which I think is why they're being so useless. They can't be bothered to put the effort in for someone who's no longer insured with them.
The longer the claim goes on for, the more man hours they have to put into it and the more it ends up costing them in the long run.
With a lot of claims it's cheaper to just pay out than dispute it.All your base are belong to us.0 -
How are they useless? You just forward the claim to your insurers, your hubby in control of a motor vehicle collided with another vehicle that is fact. The 3rd party wishes to persue a claim, let the insurers deal with it, they will be able to assess if an inflated claim is being made.
Long long story. Suffice to say I'm glad we didn't renew with them last month as they've shown just how poor they are!0 -

Yes. Our van insurers are quite happy to pay out the few hundred pounds despite the fact that it wasn't the van that hit her, as supported by a small mountain of evidence!0 -
One heavy impact and one minor. Although I'm lead to believe the heavy one was very bad and was almost a write off.
You see that's the problem you face.
If the opinion of the assessor is there has been a heavy impact to the side of the car and not from the other collision they will put it down to your oh hitting it.0 -
Your (old) insurers will pay out or argue the toss as they see fit. You agree to let them make that call as one of the terms and conditions as your policy. You can't insist that they don't pay - it's their money, not yours, at the end of the day.0

The assessor hasn't responded to questions asked about whether this could have been done or worsened by the other accident..
We've been able to provide data about the speed it was hit at etc. due to the black box. If a bumper on a 2 month old car crumples from a slight graze at 2mph, then something doesn't seem right to me?0 -
Presumably you have let your present insurers know that this claim is ongoing......make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

Bumpers are designed to spread the impact and crumple at low speeds to reduce the damage cars do to pedestrians.
The weight of your car as opposed to the other car will also have an influence.
What sort of car do you have?0
