Just a warning to everyone about Asda Direct.
I ordered a dolls house for my daughter's christmas at the beginning of December through Asda direct. After receiving an e-mail to say the order was ready for collection, I went to the store to collect it. The computer terminal at the store said that it couldn't locate the order. Then a store representative said that the order had been cancelled and that I had cancelled the order. I assured him that this wasn't the case. He then suggested that there was a problem with my credit card. I assured him that there wasn't and asked to speak to a manager. It then turned out that ASDA direct had cancelled the order and failed to notify me. I was asked by the store manager to take things up with Asda Direct. Well, seven (Yes, SEVEN) e-mails later - and four promises of a phone call from an Escalation manager (they are practically non-existent), they confirmed that they had given the dolls house to someone else and wouldn't replace it. Like others on this page, I found the South African contact centre run by Asda Direct to be completely useless. The representatives there have no idea of what customer service actually is - and when I finally spoke to an escalation manager, he did not care about the expense or stress that my family had incurred. So, one piece of advice for anyone reading this - AVOID ASDA DIRECT AT ALL COST!!!

I don't think many companies would pay compensation here either, but it's a shame you were messed about.Sometimes things go wrong and getting too stressed over it is a waste of energy.0
