Toaster recommendation

Does anyone have a recommendation for a 4 slice toaster that accepts a full slice of bread.

I have bought two recently and took them back for refunds as when I placed standard Warburtons bread in the slots about an inch of the bread still poked out of the top when toasting.

Many thanks

  • Seconded!

.....I'm getting fed up of cutting the slices in half.:(
or turning them over, after a low setting, only to find the middle burnt.

Warburtons have a lot to answer for!

Perhaps we should get the Euro-crats involved to standardise the British loaf :rotfl: :rotfl:

It is expensive but Dualit are by far the best toasters you can buy, not their cheaper range made in China but their proper UK made toasters.

dualit's main business is commercial toasters, the ones you see in hotels with the conveyor belt system, so their domestic ones are built to the same standards. The better UK built toasters are all metal construction, have replaceable full size elements and use a timer not a thermostat to regulate the 'cook' time.

If we didn't have a Dualit toaster at home then we wouldn't have another and would therefore use the grill in the oven for toast.

Are they wide enough through? The one we had at work was always burning wide slices and crumpets

Cooks evenly as the bread goes on 'length ways', has high lift, brushed stainless steel outer, looks well professional and has been used daily for about ten years now without fault or deteriation in cooking ability

    Does awesome crumpets too :)

Think is may now be obsolete, but still available if you 'search' :D
