Broke clip on washing machine door lock, what can I do to fix it without replacing?

I do not mind replacing but I broke it because the washing machine is beginning to fail to drain after a wash all the time now, this did happen when I moved in till I opened filter and loads of old pebbles were in there and a babies sock and was fine till recently.
Since it locked I know it floods the kitchen and takes about a hour to mop up each time and means I have to unscrew the panel at front to get to filter I decided to try and gently lift the clip that goes into the mechanism but in doing so I broke it so now the door wont stay closed as nothing is there to hold it in place, short of having something like rope to hold door in what can I use? The water is drained out now but if I need to use it again I worry the water will come out in usage.

You cant use rope - can you not just get a cheap/free machine from freecycle/ebay/preloved?0

Found the replacement part online though it was like a fiver, but no idea how to replace it since the door has no screws to remove and I worry if I put a flat knife in the gaps it will damage something.
Anyway trying to work out the issue i,e may be the pump or something, found a way to jam door shut by putting a old computer case in front of it then a heavy bag of potatoes to put weight on the case and that seems fine,
Did a empty load today with just bleach and vinegar in the tray and it still didnt drain or at least when I scooped up all the water in drum all that came out was a small drizzle and some little bits of dirt, strange that the pump is working just not pushing out water
I wonder if its the seal as notice when water goes down it, it comes almost straight back up.0 -
Hi,
what kind of machine is it, can you put up a picture of the door?0
