Would a dealer part exchange two cars to upgrade to a nearly new focus any one know?

A dealer will do anything if there is an earner in it for him. Salesmen are salesmen. It matters not whether they are selling goats, big tellys or..err..ford focii..

They will part a trolley of budget brand beans if there is a profit in it for them.

There will be a decent profit in the car they are selling so offer straight cash to get a good discount. The value of your two cars will be reduced by whatever profit/safety margin he needs to prevent him losing on them.

So they may offer you 60% of your cars value off as a part ex.

You may do better selling privately. I know i can get more for mine privately, But then i need to arrange transport to go the 90 odd miles to collect the new car.

90 miles, could probably get a cab for about £110-£150 depending on where you are. So I guess it comes down to how much you'll gain going private
