What counts as a 'new customer'

Hello

Does anyone have a list of the different banks and what counts as a 'new customer' for each of them? IE how long must you not have been with them in order to qualify as a new customer to take advantage of any switching offers?

Many thanks

Martin

Don't have a ready made list but each bank have their own criteria and a lot of them actually allow existing customers to get their switching incentives. Why not research and make your own list then repost it on here for everyone's benefit? I'll start you off:

Halifax £100: Allows existing customers to switch into an existing or new Halifax Reward account. They must not have received the offer since January 2012.

Yorkshire/Clydesdale Bank £150: Allows existing customers to switch into a new current account or an existing current account that has been credited with less than an average of £1000 per month for the 6 months prior to 17th Nov 2014 or the period from account opening until then if that is shorter.

Co-op £100: Existing customers can only get this if they had not paid in an average of £800 per month to any Co-op or Smile current account in the 3 months prior to 1st October 2014. They must not have received the offer since February 2014.

    Re switching incentives...

    M&S: Once only...ever.

    FD: Once only...ever.

Nationwide: As many as you like at £50 a time via their RAF scheme.

Various other offers via the cashback websites from time to time.

Thats a good start - thank you. It was actually the Co-Op I was interesting in doing again, however I got the offer in May 2014 so won't be able to do it.
If I find any other banking companies policies, I'll add them to the thread.
