John Lewis Stores

I have just received some truly excellent customer service from John Lewis this afternoon.
I found an item online that I wanted, but it was out of stock. I called my nearest John Lewis store who also had no stock, but identified three other stores that did.
Within an hour I had received calls from three lovely people at each of the stores; two to apologise that they couldn't help, and one who arranged to post the item to me.
Thanks John Lewis :T! And no, I don't work there and don't know anyone who does

I swear by John Lewis and constantly have things from them including large items, e.g. carpets and smaller items like tumble dryer etc. I buy all my household goods from them as I find their Never Knowingly Undersold policy excellent.
I have a Partnership card (always pay it off) and always look forward to getting my reward vouchers which I use in Waitrose for some of life's little luxuries.
I found out a long time ago that it pays to buy quality.0 -
As we found yesterday they are head and shoulders above any other retailer. Truly professional staff in every way.0

I use them whenever possible. Staff are always lovely although when I was younger I did have an incident with a lady assistant who practically refused to help me when looking at a designer bag. When I found the one I wanted and took it to her till and counted out the cash for it (which I worked hard for and saved up for) she soon changed her tune! Now I've fallen into the "old enough to have money to afford things" category I've never had a problem.0

I now buy all my large white goods from JL and a lot of our tech items also come from JL
I like shopping in their stores even if our nearest is about a hundred miles from here0 -
John Lewis are great, I buy nearly all my household items from them. The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0

Great stuff, it is actions like these that give you confidence in a supplier and keeps you coming back.
I have used JL several times in the past, and more often than not they have gone above and beyond to help.
The only gripe I have ever had with them (which was partly my fault) was on a clearly faulty bathroom item. it was a JL signature brand and had rusted through to the point that there was gaping holes in it after only 8 months.
Unfortunately I had paid in gift vouchers and lost the receipt, my £40-50 set was refunding to the recent lowest sale price of £13 (some big sale that had just come in the week before.).
Given that it was clearly faulty and could have only be sold from JL, it would have been nice to have few pounds as a good will gesture, but lesson learnt, that's why you keep your receipts, especially when paying in cash / vouchers!0 -
It's not my day today. I have had to phone JL to complain re faulty items including one which was badly smashed in transit. To be fair to them though, they dealt with my complaints well and with a satisfactory outcome.
Earlier today I picked up a click and collect item from a different store (not JL) and that too was smashed to bits. I was so glad I had asked the assistant to check it in the store before I carried it home. Again, it was dealt with well but it is always annoying when you look forward to receiving something and it is badly damaged.
Maybe there is so much being ordered online at the moment, with the sales, that there are bound to be accidents. As long as I am not expected to fork out for replacements, I can live with that.0
