Dubai - which hilton group hotel?

Looking to cash in a companion voucher and some avios for Dubai in April.

One of my friends can get us very low rates for hilton group hotels, we've never been to the region and don't really know the layout beyond google maps.

There seems to be 4 hotels we could stay in

Hilton The walk
Hilton Dubai Jumeriah Resort
Conrad
Waldorf Astoria.

So my questions are which would you stay in and for what reason?

Also any general tips for Dubai would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Zaf.

Think you'll need to give a bit more information to get a full reply, such as you of trip (solo, couples, family, friends) and preferences (beach, shopping etc).

In the meantime, the Hilton Dubai Jumeirah Resort and Hilton Dubai The Walk are basically part of the same complex, they are linked by a footbridge and facilities are shared (not sure if guests of one have access to all facilities of the other, but they definitely share). The Resort is a hotel and the Walk is studio/apartment accommodation.

The Conrad is in the downtown /business district on Sheikh Zayed Road close to the World Trade Center etc. Quite new property, high standard (fairly typical new Conrad), have stayed there.

I don't know the Waldorf Astoria, but the only one I'm aware of is in Ras-al-Khaimah, not in Dubai/Jumeirah central area.

Thanks for the reply, yeah should really have added a bit more info. we're a early 30's couple who haven't really done beach holidays in the past. We prefer to do rather than chill if that makes sense.

The Waldorf is listed as Waldorf Astoria Dubai Palm Jumeriah.

Frankly, they'll all be great! Dubai isn't big, and you'll take a taxi everywhere anyway (roads are upto 14 lanes wide, crossings inconsistent, taxis cheap).

I have a local fixer by the way if that helps - a guy who I trust to organise tours etc I've worked with him for 3 years where he's organised so many runners, border runs, transfers, crew, everything for three huge events. I've put tens of thousands of AED through him and his company over that time. If you want his details PM me, sometimes it's nice to have the details of someone you can rely on. That said, it's a really easy country and there's no end of tourist-specific stuff available.

One thing you may enjoy if you get sick of shopping malls (everything is in a mall) is to go out on the mangroves kayaking - you can do so near by Abu Dhabi airport/govt buildings (Dubai side of Abu) and that's actually a really lovely and natural way to enjoy the coast. Wear sunscreen ;-)

Ok, had forgotten about the Waldorf on the Palm, and I haven't seen it myself. As paddyrg rightly says, Dubai isn't huge (though some of those 12 lane highways can still be clogged at certain times of day), and the Hilton Resort/Walk and Waldorf are not far apart (you do have to drive right round the Palm to get to the Waldorf).

If you would like beach access from your hotel, then rule out the Conrad. Lovely property that it is, it's a "city" hotel.

That aside, it then kind of comes down to a few decisions about style/luxury. Conrad and Waldorf are the top tier "luxury" brands of the Hilton family, Hilton brand is the next level down (though overall hotel standard in Dubai is high).

Waldorf would probably be the highest price, depending on the room category you go for in each. For example, you might go for Resort or Walk, and afford a higher room category than in the Waldorf. This might be important to you if you're going to spend a lot of time at the hotel. Check out various review sites and the hotel websites, and you should be able to come to what is right for you.
