Hi All,
I am looking to buying a lock up garage close to London or inside london.
I can't find a dedicated website which they are advertised on . I have seen some on gumtree and some on right move .
I am however looking to invest for a good return .
can you guys give me some pros and cons you see please?
are there auction places that do sell them ?
their price can range form £5k to 20k and I would want to be investing around 5-9kish .
are there any hidden costs such as council tax as you pay it on flats/house ?

I think business rates will be levied rather than council tax. When I rented a lock up I managed to get out of paying anything as the block was near to my flat and the flat itself had no off street parking, so the valuation board zero rated it, but that might well not be the case for you.0

In England and Wales, lock up garages used to house a private car are exempt from both Council Tax and Non Domestic Rating (business rates), I'm not sure about Scotland.
If you can find a LU garage for under £10K in London, you will be very fortunate, or it will be some dilapidated asbestos cement sheet structure that needs demolishing and is in a poor area.If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0
