Switching to halifax

Hi all thinking about opening or switching to Halifax reward £5
Pay in £750+ and pay 2 direct debits
Got to use switching service?
I don't want to switch everything, I like my Barclays bank everything with them so when I log on can see everything. Do my wages ie payment from work need to be transferred?
I get paid last Thursday every month so what I'll like to do is on the 1st of every month send £750 to Halifax they can have 2 direct debits mobile and a min payment to credit card.... And maybe a standing order of about £700 back to my barclays acount on about the 2nd of the month unless they have a link to a good saving account?

May think about moving the lot at a later date

I did try and move and I mean move altogether to first direct last year but they said I need to provide proof who I are ie signed driving licence by solicitor cost about £50 DIDNT DO IT! tax man knows who I am, barclays knows who I am, every credit card iv got knows who I am!

No, according to the information on their website. Have you read it?

You're playing a dangerous game operating with an SO set up so close to a credit date. Suggest either manual payments both ways or leave a larger gap (and lose out on interest your cash could be making elsewhere.

Hopefully the £100 incentive will still be around when that time comes.

If you'd like the £100 now, whilst it's still available, why not open another Barclays account, move the two DDs over to it now, and switch that account to Halifax using the CASS?

That's a good idea already got a redundant barcalys current account only got it if i ever need to get bit of cash out on the same day. Will the switching service close the barclays account as my Tennent pays his rent into it? No I haven't read anything yet, I find myself reading it and never really get the answers I'm after.

Just read the Barclays account must shut. this will only be the 1 current account info I give them? Can I switch a direct debit via bank or do I need to phone mobile and credit card company?

And make sure I give new sort code etc to tennent! another reason it be late)

i have Halifax Rewards accounts alongside Barclays, which i use to fund them each month. no problem.
i wouldn't sacrifice your Barclays account if you want to keep it...but perhaps you could open a second one with them to transfer?

Thinking yes that what I'm going to try and do.
When you say open a new account with them, do you just mean a current account? As iv got a 2nd with them already 2 cards etc ones my normal one with wages bills etc going and coming, then a spare which I use to put my spending money when I 1st brought a house but don't do that now I started getting paid monthly so everything I need to pay/save leaves on the 1st of the month anyway Im rambling!
When I log on I can see both of these accounts... So there's some form of link. What information do the switching team have of you? If I only give them the sort code and account number for the one they will only be able to mess with that one? Never moved bank moved house more times!
