Switching bank account query

I have a quick query regarding switching bank accounts please.
When switching bank accounts, does the account being switched have to be a current account?
For example, I have a dormant Everyday Saver with Barclays. Could I use this account to be switched, or given that it's not a current account is it an immediate no-no, with no switching incentive likely to be received?
Apologies if this query is either a) extraordinarily dumb b) one that's been answered on previous threads. I have scoured the forum but to no avail. Thanks in advance

It's called the Current Accounts Switch Service (CASS) and it only switches current accounts.
