Calendar/Organiser App for iPhone

I am not sure if I am posting this in the right place - if not perhaps someone can point me in the right direction.

I am looking for a (free) app for my iPhone that will work as a diary and organiser. I don't like what is programmed in, and any search brings up so many options my head hurts - and I don't want to start putting everything in, only to find that I don't like it. I am used to a Palm PDA so something that offers the same sort of functions would.be good.

Can anyone make any suggestions?

I tried a Google search for ios calendar app similar to palm pda.

One result (http://www.imore.com/best-alternative-calendar-app-iphone) in a comment suggests "For the old Palm crowd that used DateBk6, I have found that Pocket Informant is probably the closest relative on the iPhone".
