One word of warning..DO NOT DRINK IT. It is mainly for flushing toilets but even after boiling it is not drinkable yet.

Agreed with don''t drink (website even says don't brush your teeth with it)

Does anyone know if it can be used to wash dishes etc? I guess most likely not becuase of cross contamination but not being able to wash them is quite a chore!

"The most important message is that no one should drink the water when it starts coming back through the taps. The water must not be drunk, even after boiling. It must not be used for food preparation, ice-making or even cleaning your teeth. It can be used for bathing, showering and flushing toilets."

Oops sorry, the kettle boiled and I clicked 'post' by mistake :D

As it doesn't mention washing up, I'm assuming we can't use the tap water so I'm going to boil bottled water.

Some parts of Leckhampton in Cheltenham have had water since this morning
  • Thats good!!! At last :D

I do think though, if you can't brush your teeth with it, I wouldn't want to shower with it

The water they're pumping is as clean as ever, they're just worried in case some flood water has contaminated the pipes along the way.

    Eastern Ave
    Longlevens
    Tredworth
    Abbeymead
