Temporary insurance for ex-pat
Hi,
Does anybody know if it is possible to get temporary insurance for someone who will be staying in the UK for about six weeks?
I would like her to have the use of my car occasionally, her French fully comp does not cover her in the UK and my UK fully comp will not cover her.
Thank you for any advice.

Will your insurance not allow you to add her?
6 weeks temp cover without a no claims bonus will not be cheap. Why not just hire a car on the days she needs to drive without you.0 -

My insurers do not want to know!
I did think of car hire, but as the use of a car will be random maybe long term hire would work out cheaper?0 -
Send these people an email mail@stuartcollins.com they are good for ex-pat insurance and may be able to help.0

It is virtually impossible in this country (unlike every other civilized nation). Easier to hire a car, and cheaper if it is indeed possible.
EDIT: Sorry the above applies for non EU licence holders. Aren't EU licences treated the same as UK ones for insurance purposes? So any temp insurer should be able to do it.0
