natwest graduate account application

I was helping my sister with her finances as she is currently paying £40 a month for a Coutts account I advised her that maybe a natwest graduate account was more suitable as she has recently graduated and I would never pay for an account. The application wasn't instant decision, is that normal ? She has low income at the minute as no job but equally doesn't want to pay for an account. The Coutts account was only opened as my dad banks there. Just wondering whether we wo have to appeal the decision if they reject the application.

You can, but definitely you don't have to.

BTW, there are (and were) dozens of current accounts around, not only graduate ones, that she wouldn't have to pay for.

Was thinking that but she has no job and low income at moment but will be hopefully working soon, normally I would say wait until she was in regular employment but £40 a month is throwing away money.
