Well.... In the UK at least, I think the tabloid press has still got far too much influence on the minds of the nation.
I remember a few years ago, some woman posted on Facebook about some guy she'd seen near a carpark taking photos, he claimed he was photographing flowers, but the woman didn't believe him because the lens was so big (obviously never seen a macro lens) and accused him of taking photo's of children, the posts that followed included a few meatheads who said they were heading down there asap to beat the living crap out of him.......
I know more than one story about the police being called to photographers lurking near hedges/fields early morning or late night...when we were in Scotland in September, we were out photographing the aurora...got stopped by the police for why a woman with car registered to South Yorkshire driving around the Galloway Forest at 3am!
Also, never try taking an SLR to a concert....even when I had permission to shot (and was using my 50d), the security guards were soon on my case....so recording a gig on your iphone, or taking v shaky pics are okay, but a few half decent photos from my camera is wrong???
Sorry, will get off my soap box now....:D0 -

Rubbish photos generate activity on facebook/twitter rather than being good enough to sell/publish
It does make me wonder if i should bother taking my little point and shoot to the Queen concert i'm going to in 2 weeks.. Sure, it's awesome that it goes as wide as f1.4 but it's got too little zoom to make use of it.0 -
I've managed some good pics on on my bridge camera, considering the distance, but that had decent zoom..we were front row for this concert...I know what you mean re having F1.4!
I would never be able to sell/publish those pics, just a shame it is hard to get decent reminders, but recording the whole gig is okay?0 -
Youtube will unshake (is there such a word as unshake ?) your shaky videos.
