Where do I start?

Hi all

I am wanting to get a webcam that has inbuilt microphone so that I can use Skype to call family back home.

I have done a bit of reading and a some folk sing the praise of webcams with inbuild microphones whilst others say they're a waste of time as you can't be heard easily.

What are your educated thoughts on this? Also, if you think I should go for a webcam with microphone, can you suggest a model that is very easy on the purse strings but a good performer all the same?

Thanks for your help, have been going over a lot of info on this and can't really find answers for what I need.

Creative ones seem to be OK. Also, if you can't be heard easily, there's a +10dB tick box in the Recording/Microphone setting in the volume control which will increase the sound.
