Muscle Food

Has anyone tried this? I heard about it from my brother and he raves about it. Buys meat in bulk and puts it in the freezer.

On first glance, it does seem cheaper than the supermarket for chicken breasts and beef mince which I do use quite a lot.

Hello, I have had two deliveries from these now, both times the meat has been great quality. I've had the chicken breasts before and they are lovely, no added water so they don't shrink when cooked! I have placed an order for the mince (we also go through loads as it's the kids fav!) and that should be delivered Tuesday, I ordered 10 packs for £25 which will do 20 Teas for my family of four. So I think that's pretty good value considering its great quality.
  • Can understand why your brother raves about it.
Having been VERY reluctant to try it but fed up listening to relatives going on about it I tried the chicken. It was as every bit good as they said. Plump, not water filled, far superior in flavour/texture/taste to anything bought previously, no matter how cooked.
I'm a frugal cook but IMO it's worth it. MSE wise, one chicken breast would easily do a main meal for two or more in eg a curry or pasta etc. Packaging and delivery was excellent, we had no hesitation in going for their turkey deal at Xmas and it was superb. Not tried red meats yet but am going to.

Thanks guys. I think I will wait till he does another order and order some then as I won't spend £75 in order to get the free delivery.

Only problem is that I live with my brother and he seems to block up the fridge/freezer and the spare freezer (both of which I paid for before he even moved in)with all his meat and egg white stuff, so not sure I'd be able to fit any of my stuff in, but he has to learn to share!

I had my first delivery on 30th Dec. Was amazed at the size of the chicken breasts. They easily fed 2 in fajitas and bulked out with veg you could feed an army. I also ordered the easy carve gammon. We have a slicer so can get it thinly - but found out it comes bone in. DH had fun working the slicer round it. I think we'll get 12 or so meals out of it for 2 and I'm now making pea and ham soup with the bone.

Can't wait to try the duck and the horse steaks.

Freezer space may be a problem as the packs are big.

    Mmmm. 26lb at 1/7/18. Oops:o
  • Have shared orders with relatives both times I've tried it. Makes sense. If he wants you to try it he needs to share lol.
@ Furrybeast ... aargh forgot about the HM on sale, thats almost enough to put me off the entire site and I'm a convert. No way am I buying that : o. Think they sell ostrich, kangaroo etc too. Just to clarify, their meats/poultry etc really do seem to be top quality, the HM and other stuff is just if you choose to buy it. Funny how we are conditioned to accept some things andnot others lol

I looked at this a few times does anyone know where the meat is sourced from in the first place? I know there butchery is UK based but is it UK or imported meat to begin with?

Hard to find out as legally meat butchered in the UK can and more often that not is, labelled as UK meat.
