I had a one day stop on a cruise and found that the main attractions relate to the numerous beaches and water sports. The main town had a lot of shops geared up for Americans on cruises, particularly diamond and jewellery stores which were quite expensive. Away from that the island was very laid back but, as I say, it is very much geared to the beaches and isn't cheap as everything has to be shipped in.0

We are looking for a caribbean Island to visit Easter 2016. Hoping to have a small wedding at the resort but mostly just want a lovely holiday with my DP AND 2 girls aged 10 and 5 (at the time)0

I have to say that Aruba wouldn't really spring to mind when looking for a Caribbean island location as there isn't a lot there and I doubt that there are that many flights to the island (just a guess on that subject). The more mainstream Islands such as Antigua, St Lucia, Barbados to name but a few have a lot more going for them but have plenty of quiet beaches etc if you want them but plenty of places to eat and stay.
If you want to go to Antigua for a special reason then fair enough but there are plenty of more beautiful Islands in the windward and leeward Islands to choose from.
Hope this helps.0
