If you can't easily find it, it's probably in the loft!.
Next step is certainly to look in the loft where even if the inverter isn't there you should see some cables coming through the roof and going somewhere. Following those cables will certainly lead you to the inverter (as would going back to fusebox and following the cable in the other direction). And of course somewhere between those points will be the total generation meter which you're presumably reading every quarter and the inverter has to be somewhere between roof and TGM.
