Switching tariff

I've resolved to finally do something about my EDF fix - happy to stay with them, it's just which tariff to go for.

My consumption is 1800 kwh electricity, 10500 average for gas; the vast majority of the gas being used over winter months and electricity pretty evenly spread.

I'm currently on the Aug 15 fix.

On my consumption, I'd pay £24 p.a. less on the May 2016 fix.

I'd pay £8.50 p.a. more on the Jan 17 fix.

Crystal ball time: do you think it's worth going for one rather than the other (it seems a no brainer to switch to one or the other from my present tariff)?
