I stupidly got conned by this. Very angry and disappointed in myself but, thankfully, I acted quickly and did not lose any money - actually, I made a small profit. :rotfl:
I was taken in by a very real looking article on what I thought was the BBC web site. They took not £1 but £1.03 from my credit card. I was hacked off enough about that but I never saw any information people are referring to here about subscriptions though feared, with them now having my credit card number, that they could take more money at will.
A very helpful advisor from Halifax seemed positive they could sort something out, raise a dispute and get my credit card number cancelled. He said to expect a new card in 5-10 working days. The next day, £1.30 was refunded into my bank and the day after my new card arrived. I was very impressed with the efficiency of the whole process as I did not expect it to be sorted so quick. I made a point of telling them so on the phone too. I'm not slow to complain if someone hacks me off so credit where credit is due and well done Halifax. :T0 -
I stupidly fell for this and want to cancel it ASAP! I think I also entered an incorrect email address so haven't received my login details (my correct address is not valid according to their website). I have entered by bank details and I can see a transaction for £1 so something went through.
Can anyone tell me the name of the company I need to ask my bank to reject? Is it rockyfroggy or something else?
Much appreciated!

I'm struggling to see where the scam is here. I have received my first prize, an Apple TV, in the post today
I'm not allowed to post full links yet, but here is a photo of my prize:

Hi guys,ROCKYFROGGY IS A SCAM!,they say they are 'associated' or 'partnered' with APPLE AND VIRGIN MEDIA! THIS IS A LIE!,I phoned APPLE & they said THEY ARE NOT IN ANY WAY 'PARTNERED' NOR 'ASSOCIATED' with ROCKYFROGGY!,there are a few MORE sites stating a 'PARTNERSHIP' with APPLE AND OTHER UNSUSPECTING COMPANIES!, again these are ALL LIES!
The other sites that I can remember are as follows:- FUNKYCLOCK..LOTTO24 i.e AND LUXQUIZ!,I'm pretty sure there are a LOT MORE!, ROCKYFROGGYS'S phone number for UK customers is :- 0203 582 8707,they have 'testimonials' from 'lucky winners' supposedly made on FB BUT when you try to log on to these 'winners' FaceBook comments it takes you STRAIGHT TO ROCKYFROGGY PAGE!,The 'winners' say 'I didn't believe it at first,I thought it was a SCAM offering an IPHONE 6S for £1 BUT my IPHONE arrived in the post a few days later!',there are quite a few of these 'POSTS' on FaceBook including 1 from a 'lady' who says she 'received' 6 IPhones FROM ROCKYFROGGY BUT ROCKYFROGGY STATE THAT ONLY 1 IPHONE PER PERSON,PER PAYMENT DETAILS,PER ADDRESS ETC,EVEN IF YOU LIVE IN SHARED ACCOMODATION i.e A FLAT,UNI ACOMODATION ETC!...so HOW CAN SHE HAVE 'WON AND RECEIVED 6 IPHONES?? BUT ...I have been monitoring this ROCKYFROGGY site for over 1 MONTH now and the MOST RECENT 'winners' ARE THE SAME PEOPLE ( including the 'winner' of the 6 IPHONES!) THAT WERE SAYING THE SAME WORDS OVER 1 MONTH AGO,WORD FOR WORD!,YET IT SAYS THEY MADE THEIR 'COMMENTS' 12 MINUTES AGO TODAY!! etc.
PLEASE,PLEASE,PLEASE DO NOT GIVE THESE SCAMMERS YOUR HARD EARNED CASH!
COMPLAIN TO APPLE,VIRGIN MEDIA ETC,ANY COMPANY that they say they ARE 'PARTNERED WITH!
I sincerely hope that this warning stops and HELPS other people from being SCAMMED!:mad:0 -
Magsta yes the message has already been received to not give bank details to these guys.
If people would just stop and think "is it a real" or "what's the catch" then these companies wouldnt be around.0
