Putting it in the will is not the correct way to do it. What they should do is discuss it with the grandparents and arrange for their wishes to be made clear in a letter to be opened immediately in the unfortunate event of their demise.
I think it's better to put some things in a letter kept with the will but I don't think there are any laws about it.
It's always worth keeping in mind that a will becomes a public document so don't put anything in it that you don't want to world to see. A letter kept with the will can explain your decisions in the will or lay out what you would like to happen after your death while remaining reasonably private.0
