TJC Plumbing & Heating - Great!

Options
Boiler broke down 27 Dec, family with young children arriving to stay plus another family with youngsters for dinner later, when I noticed the house was getting colder & colder.

Oh no, boiler not working. Going to COST even IF we can find someone to come out, why does this sort of thing happen at the worst times!

Picked a name from local paper (TJC Plumbing & Heating - Trevor) & was amazed when he said he'd come in 30 minutes (Gas Safe qualified). Duly arrived, spent 1hr 45mins working on it. Husband was bracing himself for the answer to the "how much" question once the job was done.

£50........what, wow were we impressed. No attempt to load charge with 'call out fee', no attempt to rip us off in our mini crisis & a nice tidy job done.

Restored my faith in the plumbing/heating profession when there's an emergency & the customer is somewhat 'over a barrel'. Gave him some extra cash & a very nice bottle of red wine (because during chatting he said he'd started to appreciate red wine over white nowadays).

What a star, I'm keeping his contact details for sure.
Seen it all, done it all, can't remember most of it.

Is this their website, have I got the right firm?

We talk to our neighbours to get (and give our)recommendations. We've either found ourselves and shared with our neighbours...........or a neighbour has recommended the following to us:

    Roofer
    Garden fence installer
Gas safe fitter (he is an absolute gem)
    Plumber
    Electrician
    Remote controlled garage door installer

Personal recommendation is always helpful, both to the customer and the provider/trader.

Yes, & the guy we had was based locally. I keep a record of anyone recommended & ones I'd recommend myself......you never know when you might need a decent tradesman.

Now, if I could just find a good paving person, I'd be able to redo the footpaths on our property that the 'travellers' lifted and re-laid very, very badly!!!! Just goes to show that a local phone number, nice van and nicely spoken does not make for a good job. Lesson learnt - recommendations is key.
