I my renewed my son's car insurance in October with Direct Line through the Topcasback site. All seemed fine ,quickly tracked the transaction on their site, asked for the Policy Number which I gave and my account Dashboard was saying could take 26 weeks for payment. Now today the status has changed to declined. The amount I was due was £40.40.Can I do anything ?

Spent £100s with Quidco
Received big fat £0
Tried Top Cashback
Received £0When will the "Edit" and "Quote" button get fixed on the mobile web interface?0 -
I also got £0.00 from Quidco and gave up and tried Topcashback. With Topcashback I have approx. £350.00 to date.Sky being the biggest payer.
Only one not to pay out was Currys. Also earned on recomendations to freinds.
So up till now only good things to say about Topcasback.
I have read similar posts about Direct Line not paying out easily, but the thing is if they are not paying surely Topcashback should be pulling them from its site.
No doubt I will receive some crazy excuse as to why they didn't pay !0 -
Currys declined my cashback too! Annoying as the price was the same as everywhere else so cashback was the only reason I bought at Currys.
That's the thing with cashback, some companies are good, others pretty bad, you can usually find out from the reviews on topcashback if you are likely to be in for a difficult time or not.
Topcashback customer service is usually OK, raise a case and they will at least find out for you what excuse Direct Line came up with for not paying.0 -

"Cashback is only available on new policy applications only. Renewals do not qualify for cashback"
You may have got a better price by ringing up and going through to "I'm thinking of leaving"0 -
This was not taken out as a renewal was taken out as a new Policy so I think should have been paid.0

As previously advised, you have to contact TopCashback.
Submit a support ticket or raise a Missing Claim. Alternatively, if you really want you could issue a Letter Before Action to TopCashback, and they'll consider your Cashback under their Fair Play policy.0 -

But did the insurer class it as a new customer? If it was up to us customers we'd all class ourselves as new customers to get the better deals - unfortunately the companies themselves usually decide who is new and who isnt. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
I also have a new customer claim outstanding since oct 2014 and i keep nudging it. As far as im concerned, Direct line are crooks. See the other thread on the subject.Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0
