  • I know my son was a little !!!! on the school bus and only aged 11 he couldn't keep his mouth shut he was really annoying one of the older girls so much so that one day when they happened to get off at the same stop she smacked him round the face, he seemed surprised it had happened I told him it was his own fault and he needed to pipe down on the bus, didn't have any problems after that day :rotfl:

I'm feeling proper fed up with work :(

I haven't been keeping a track on my NSDs it's probably something in should do, it usually keeps me focused.

If she said she didn't want to go on the bus I would take her - but she says she wants to still go on the bus - I know she probably gives as good as she gets - she's no angel and she is the 4th child so has learned to stand up for herself - so I have no doubt she will be making a stand (and I can't help but be a little proud of that!) but she does need to learn to pick her battle wisely and not argue just for the sake of it! I also secretly feel that the boy is older and therefor should be told in no uncertain terms that it is not ok to fight with a younger girl! I have spoken to the boys mum and we know there are clearly 2 sides to this - but I cant help feeling worried for her! This boy has a brother and an older friend and his sister that are close out of school who get the bus together- this could very easily become 4 against one!

Sorry you are feeling fed up with work KD - its miserable isn't it! Is there anything you can do to change jobs?

I'm just overwhelmed and tired! Things seem to go in cycles with me - my life is finely balanced with work, home, kids, health and money - and if one thing get out of control the rest go into a spiral and I loose control in every part - at the moment I have been feeling unwell and that affects my ability to cope with everything else!!! I know it will get better! its just hard at the moment!!!!

    Now't else for it!!!

Not really feeling much better tonight!!! Work is just horrible and I have realised that when I'm not well my tolerance goes out of the window!!!! It feels like wading through treacle at the moment!!!

As for home - DD3's bus journey appeared uneventful today however she is comfort eating to the point of real concern - and I have no idea how to deal with it!!! I have also taken all phones away at bed time as both have been caught on games and videos in the wee small hours and DS won't get ready for school - so feeling like a completely rubbish mum - I really need to give my head a wobble!!!!

money wise not a NSD - I nipped to B&M to get cable ties (saw a u tube video about unblocking the softener tubes on the washing machine using cable ties!!! ) ended up spending£7 including cat food, washing up sponges and hair rollers for DD3!!!! also had to lift cash for DD3 scuba dive session with scouts tomorrow!!! I try not to have extra cash in my purse then no one can have any! I lift what I need for bus fares and weekly activities on a Sunday and there is no spare for extra spends!!! But forgot about the extra for the scuba thing!!

On a positive note - I did a fuel switch tonight and it looks like I will save about £30 a month!!! so so far I will have saved £120 in house insurance, £264 on TV/Broadband/phone and £330 on fuel for the year - that's a total of £714!!! Not bad for a few phone calls!!!

Not reset the YNAB yet - and really need to as weekly spends (not bills) is definitely the area that needs most attention and apart from the mortgage (which I don't want to change until I'm debt free to give me the best chance of a top deal) is probably the only area where I can cut back realistically!

    See I'm Plodding Beanie!!! :)

Presumably she is doing it to make her feel better.
I would probably suggest getting her some nice toiletries and introducing her to the joys of externalising things by writing them down. Also try things which help her not to isolate herself if that is an issue.

This sounds like a crass answer but it is how I helped myself. Anything that can help her value herself for who she is rather than what she looks like may also help. I found viewing my body as a machine helpful - you feed it things to help it to function and find things other than food to feed your soul.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience Butti- it is really helpful. I guess she is doing it to feel better -but I don't know what is making her feel bad! She doesn't have a big social group but does talk about friends in school - I have tried to help her organise a sleep over but doesn't seem to be that easy to do.

I will suggest writing things down but she may not be keen - but anything is worth a try(she hates writing)! I would like it if she could talk to someone - even if its not me! She is keen on swimming so going to try to encourage that too!

On a more positive note - had an amazing parents evening with DS - every subject teacher was raving about his improvement and head of year only wanted to see me to say how much better things are!!! Over the moon is an understatement! After 3 years of really difficult times things look like they might be on the up with DS!!!

Work was more horrible than horrible - dealing with a really difficult situation at the moment and I fear it will drag on into next week and maybe beyond!!! its taking up a lot of time and headspace!!!

Money wise - nothing to report but the night is young!!!

I really hope the Rev Mum has moved into her new home by now so yeah to that & that your cold has gone.

You have done so well & an inspiration at how sticking at stuff pays off in the end. My D hated the bus journey to school & though there was no bullying there was definitely a lot of teasing which was probably taken too far.
I've worked in the mortgage industry all my life but I'm not a broker & I've seen many people pay off their mortgages & believe it or not live to regret it. I know you aren't at that stage yet but I would encourage you to look at on Offset mortgage with the Y...shire Building Society as an Offset is definitely more worthwhile for higher tax payers. It used to equate to a savings rate of over 10%. No I've not worked for them. Mortgages are easy to get when you've got one but as we age they get harder & none of us no what's round the corner.
Keep on plodding. Remember the tortoise.
