Midget cycle 5 is nothing!! Please don't give up yet!! You always hear the "oh I got pregnant straight away" stories, difficulty conceiving is so taboo.

Although I say it I'm nowhere near giving up yet. Hubby is going to go for sperm analysis next month if we've not caught (private if necessary) then at least we'll know if there's any issue there.

midget I know it probably doesn't help when we say cycle 5 is still early days but its true - cats is 100% right, no one talks about how long it actually takes unless it takes them 5 minutes!

The estimates are actually 12 months for the average couple with no issues.

Sending hugs, I know exactly how you feel though x

    Hi all,

Sending hugs to those who are feeling low, have AF, or are just generally in need of them.

Got a positive OPK this afternoon, and it's only cycle day 10. I'm using a different brand to last month as a kind lady on here sent them to me, and as the other ones were out of date, and these ones aren't, I thought I'd switch to these. I don't know whether to continue doing tests as this is only a few days after the end of my period, so quite early for me as it's usually around CD13 or 14 I ovulate? We dtd a couple of nights ago and are going for the same method of dtd every other day as much as DH can manage to do so to cover our bases, as I was worried last month that we didn't do enough after I got my positive.

As Poppy's due date gets every nearer (8th May) I'm getting more and more tearful, as I know I should be counting down to having her here, rather than counting cycle days in anticipation of having her sibling. :(

Oh Mouse I'm so sorry :-( sending loads of love your way.

CD10 does seem early but it's feasible. You may have a second surge later in your cycle though so maybe keep testing. Do other symptoms indicate ov yet?

  • Bless you Sexymouse, I can't imagine how awful it must be to have gone through what you did with Poppy. Sending love and hugs. Are you doing anything to mark the date? I believe sometimes that helps.

If I were you, I would do the OPKs for as long as possible (as amount and cost allow). I got my positive on CD10 and stopped testing and clearly haven't caught. This month I plan to do everything from day 8 - OPKs, accurate daily temping and BD eod (basically the sperm meets egg plan). At least if it doesn't work then I know that there is nothing we could have done differently.

Midget, I think we all feel that the month drags each time and it does seem like a lifetime when the months go on but everyone on here is soooo right in that it is more 'normal' to take months and up to a year for a healthy couple with no issues. The ones that fall immediately are just very lucky (hate them).

    Keep going!!

I also am friendly with someone who has gone through IVF and it doesn't seem as bad as I thought, maybe collate more experiences and information before completely ruling it out but obviously each to their own and as long as you and OH are happy and supportive of eachother, then that's what is important :) (that goes for everyone that is unsure, I am certainly less scared at the idea)

We are going to plant some poppy seeds in the garden on her due date. I've got the traditional red Remembrance poppies for my husband and I to plant (she was born on Remembrance Day last year) and some brighter Californian poppies called Jelly Beans for my son (nicknamed Beanie since he was inside me) to plant.

Thank you for the advice on OPKs. I've got loads in my bedside drawer so plenty to continue testing with.

Sexy sending love & hugs your way, planting poppy seeds is such a lovely idea & amazing way to remember her xxx

Pink sorry you've had such a rotten time, fx your feeling a bit better soon.

Midget don't give up, or lose hope, you're time will come!!. Totally agree everyone here - no-one really chats about it taking a while to get preggers, the only stories you hear are the ones who got fell within the first couple month :mad::mad:
