Hi again everyone. CD23 and all signs indicate I ov'd yesterday. It being so early has taken us by surprise so we haven't BD'd quite as much I'd like due to existing plans but still managed CD19, CD21 and today :o (tmi sorry!). So I'm hoping the every-other-day rule proves right!

I'll cope with a 35 day ish cycle anyway even if nothing else :)

    For those enquiring, I really have found OPKs and temping to be amazing, I can at least be certain things are working properly. I put them off for so long and really wish I had started sooner! My big tips would be;

    - Cheapie opks: use late afternoon, early evening. I tend to do mine when I get in from work as a routine, but make sure urine is concentrated. I definitely get a +ve - so do trust that that second line can get dark!

    - Clearblue digital dual hormone: Expensive as *?!*but really helps. I love knowing things are working due to seeing the "High" - last month took me 7 days to get a peak though. Only 3 this month. I do these in the morning as it specifies.

    - Temping: I put it off for so long as I thought it would stress me out more, but actually the control is brilliant. I have no doubt now whether or not I've ov'd - which for me is the right thing. I'm a control freak!

Fingers crossed for everyone, sorry for those with AF.

Hi, can I join you guys? Started TTC #2 this month. Got an almost 3yr old son who says he doesn't want a brother or sister, so fun times ahead if/when we get a bfp!

    Welcome big5!

CD21 here, got another positive OPK today so I reckon I will ov tomorrow.

I second what Cats said about opks and temping. I also put temping off but I'm really glad I started now as it confirms I do actually ovulate and have a 12 day luthal phase which I believe is ok. OPKs also really help me as my cycles can be irregular by a week or so.

We've dtd every other day for the last 2 weeks, think we'll both be glad to have a rest next week!
    TTC since September 2015
  • I haven't been here very long and feel a bit out of place so sorry for the recent silence!

For me using OPK's really helped me understand my cycle better. I didn't temp because I work shifts and it would be too much of a faff, but I definitely understand my body a bit better by using apps like Ovia. TMI: I get IBS type symptoms when I'm ovulating, took a few months to associate the two! I came off the pill in October and my cycles have been between 28-35 days.

  • Hi all

No internet at home atm so posting at work in dinner break.

I am CD20. No idea about ovulation as I don't track/test for it. It's a wait and see approach for us at the moment along with reading info online.

My cycle last month was 29 days but the first period was a withdrawal bleed from coming off pill so not sure it's entirely accurate. With that in mind, AF is due on 3 March? Plan to test before that - unsure when to be honest.

Just wanted to ask everyone how long you were TTC before you starting doing ovulation tests?
Started doing them right away, I think it's best to know, isn't it?
  • According to Clear Blue I've hit peak fertility today, couple of days late by my calculations as it was supposed to happen when we were away in Iceland, got back yesterday but never mind, so here's to BDing and the old TWW!

Welcome big5, hope your stay here is a short one.

AF arrived this morning, not really surprised, but upset all the same. This is us onto cycle 8 now :(
  • Sorry to hear that Angel :(

Thanks to everyone for the OPK advice. I guess we didn't want to get into the technical stuff straight away, just wanted to enjoy it but I am getting anxious about it all with not knowing what is happening and when, which is annoying as I need to relax.

Will wait and see what happens next week. Still no symptoms apart from odd crampy twinge. This time last month I was having lots of symptoms. CD26 today.
