Connecting iPhone to iTunes without having to restore

I've just connected my DW iPhone 6 to iTunes to add some music for the first time since she bought it back in September/October. Unfortunately it is asking to either set the phone as a new one or restore from a backup from the PC, which is 2/3 months out of date.

Does anyone know if there is a way to connect the phone to iTunes without having to do this? Obviously I don't want to wipe the data that is already on the phone as it would probably more than life is worth!

Before you do anything, you should back up the phone (as you said you have precious stuff, which you don't want to lose).

You don't have to restore the phone as new to add new music. Select the music that you want to add and drag it to the phone icon (you can find this under devices). But keep in mind that you can only sync with 1 computer (I may be wrong about this though).

You've got the wrong end of the stick, the iPhone has never been plugged into iTunes before, so you just press "setup as new iPhone", as it is, as far as iTunes is concerned, a "new iPhone".

NOTHING will be erased from the device. Ignore comment above, after you press setup as new iPhone the phone will automatically backup.

Thanks. This has worked a treat!
