Buy To Let

I am thinking of buying a property to let out. I live in Northern Ireland.

From what I have been reading not sure N Ireland is best place for real yields.

Should I consider buying elsewhere eg Scotland and using agency to look after it?

I am concerned about the distance and lack of hands-on control and having to rely heavily on some one else.

Any guidance ,thoughts , opinions or anyone's own experience of doing this would be appreciated .

Thanks

Absolutely ensure you are within an easy 30 minute journey of it. Faraway BTLs are for professional or accidental landlords, or for people who live in a place too excruciatingly expensive, e.g. central London to afford a local BTL. You already live in what sounds like an ideal BTL locality.

You can also add to your income by managing it directly without an agent.
