Thanks for the reply fc some weeks he does 6 days mostly 12 hour shifts, if he turns down shifts they then don't give him work for for up to a week they treat the lads awfully, they have a lunch break but no other breaks he has been working there for years, they used to have him as temporary but lay him of for a few weeks. Then put him on zero hours he does make good money, but he does get tired and never sees his kids..

That's the downside of zero hours contracts :( I don't personally believe they are always a bad thing, it depends on the employer and he sounds like he doesn't have a particularly good one.
It's a very grey area for long term employees as to what rights they have. Some employment tribunals have ruled that long term employees have a clear enough contractual working relationship to have the same rights as workers on regular contracts. As I said though, it's complicated and often depends on the terms of the original contract.
One key thing is that if he had had regular work for a year ( regular in zero hours contracts is usually defined as not having had a period of seven days with no work [excluding leave] ) He is entitled to take annual leave without accruing it. That means if he is entitled to say 4 weeks a year, he doesn't have to work a certain amount of time before he can take it.

It sounds gruelling hours though :( If he's not in a union, he could get advice from ACAS. But it's sadly too common that people on these contracts turn down work and are punished for it by not being offered regular work.

You should try some proper tequila (look for 'reposado' on the label) with some friendly Mexicans (they take their tequila very seriously ... the Scots and their passion for whisky has nothing on them) - and none of that lime wedges and salt nonsense.

How is your baking mojo, PD? I do worry about it escaping again.:)

For anybody doing a vs W shop there are Baxters soups for 57p. I don't know if this is an Elite price but, they're good fillers if you buy them anyhow :)

I might be wrong, but I'm sure I remember someone saying that the comparison price goes from what you pay UNLESS it's a multi-buy or online shop.

I seem to remember this working for me when buying reduced Schwartz products that happened to be on a multi-buy.

Don't worry, you are right about 3 giving a better return than 2 in this instance. Savvybuyer doesn't pay enough attention to the detail regarding APG multibuys :p :rotfl:

Whilst in A, I looked for this soup as it appears to be absent from the 2 for £2 offer on MSM. But it wasn't in my store to test..

No its not true, they say it will but I have had to chase my refund up 3 times when they did not deliver what I ordered or just left me without items but still charged me. keep an eye on your account and if not there next week call them :))
For getting a refund on evouchers, I had more joy in messaging Sada via their online help page and getting them to phone/email be back, rather than me phoning them. When phoning them, the CS staff were all very nice and friendly, but tbh didn't really have a clue what was going on. By messaging them, it gives them time to look into the account and see what has happened (or not happened). But if I learnt anything - be persistent:)
