Wind is picking up here again and it's chucking it down.
Need to go to T's so think I'll go while DD is in nursery and then we can spend the rest of the day hiding out in the house.
Just done my first weigh in after getting back on the wagon and I've lost 2lb. Pleased with that as I did have a couple of wobbles, mainly beer and rum relatedhead screwed on this week though.
Well done lookinforabargain 2lb is good. :T:T Go and find something weighing 2lb and that's what you have lost0 -
Thanks Rhos....Ds1 has spent 11 years on his hobby and is 10 weeks away from taking the final exam to achieve the final grade...but announced yesterday thats he's giving it all up now before taking the exam...

Gosh that's a long time to devote to something and not complete the final hurdle and possible something he may regret later in life.
Hope you all find a solution.
Thankfully we are still at the little stage, littlemans just unravelled a full ball of wool all over the chair because he "wanted to do something" what? is anyone's guess:rotfl: now he says his Sister Will be cross with him because it was hers!! Currently in a tangle on the floor!!0 -

that is such a shame after spending so long, and it is only a few weeks left, is he concerned he is going to fail anyway, so is giving up instead or has he just decided he wants to choice a different path, maybe if he realises if he gets the qualification he can then take a different path but have it for a back up, it will also look better on his cv if he if he at least completes the exams even if he decides to work in another field,
sometimes it is impossible to change their minds and we just have to let them learn by their mistakes:(0 -

Sorry to hear this, it's so hard as you want to support them in the choices they make but not when you know they are doing it for the wrong reason. My eldest has been trying to give something up which I know he will regret so have been offering little incentives along the way to keep him goinghope you manage to get it sorted x

Sarah..I feel your pain...I thought we were on an even keel now certainly with ds1 as we havent had cross words for months...(he's 17)...but then yesterday he announces that he's making a decision that I dont agree with or understand...and its turned us into a split household...
OH is taking his side and ds2 sees it my way...totally split and this moring the mood in the house was no better either with everyone storming off...
Oh the joys of parenthood...I have no words of wisdom,it seems I live in my "own world"...but I hope whatever is behind your sons outburst clears soon for you all x
Thankyou, and sorry your household not a good one either, I know what your going through, my OH, is taking DS1 side, and I seem to be the bad one even though I didnt do anything, DS1 seems to know how to play us both off each other, and every time it works, and then I get mad with OH, because he never backs me up.
One of the main arguments at the moment is that DS1 wants a pitbike, but I dont want him to have one. OH has a motorbike and he thinks its okay for him to have this bike. My point just doesnt seem to get across.:mad:rhosynbach wrote: »oh sarah thats really rough, sending you love and hugs xx teens can be hard work, ,but its crossing the line when he strikes out, we had a nightmare with ds1 but been so lucky with ds2 he is scarily good, and hopefully ds3 but he is only 15 so plenty of time,
My DS2, is a joy, never have crossed words with him, if he ever does anything wrong or naughty, he knows and always apologises, DS1, never apologises for anything, even if he knows he is wrong, would rather just never speak or hide the matter under the carpet.0 -
Good Afternoon

Sarah hugs (((X))) don't really have any advice I was lucky never had much trouble with DS. I do know he shouldn't have hit you that's not on0
