Need something for a quick snack at work. What is the best instant soup with some thickness and flavour? Thanks.

OH says he likes Ansley Harriot instant soup. I have not tried the mug-soups but some of my old work mates says they are nice.
  • Does it have to be soup? DH much prefers these which are made much the same way in a mug but have for more "body" to them http://symingtons.com/products/pasta-mug-shots/ We buy them in B & M at 3 for £1.

Would you be able to bring a food flask to work and then you could have your usual favourite / or home made soup?

Doesn't have to be soup, just instant! I work long shifts and don't always get a break. Sandwiches are ok but often return home! Microwave not always available or time to cook it?

We find Batchelors cup-a-soups the nicest we've had. Especially the leek & potato, but they are all tasty. Asda had them on offer at 50p for packs of four sachets not long ago, so we stocked up. Somewhere or other usually has an offer on.
    :D I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe :D

Double up your cup soup and/or add part of a stock cube maybe a handful of croutons and lashings of black pepper. Seen me through many a long day xxx
  • You could make up a noodle-soup using a cup-a-soup sachet and a packet of value instant noodles (20p in Tesco). Throw away the noodle seasoning or there'll be too much salt. Noodles will rehydrate okay with boiling water if you let them sit for 5 mins stirring occasionally. (Just use enough water for the noodles or the soup, not both, so the noodles cook in and absorb the broth.)

make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.
  • The Pasta mugshots are superb!!! Especially the cheese one and the Chicken/Sweetcorn.
    PK! :money:
  • Ainsleys , when they are on special in Asda for 50 English pennies. Bloody lovely, nice and thick so quite filling if you add a couple of crackers, cheap dinner .
