Hi,
has anyone any valid CBT experience and willing to share them please.
I woken up to the fact I have a few bad habits that are impacting upon myself and those I love around me.
I'm keen to resolve them before it makes irrrepairable damage.
I seem to be locked into a circle with things and this seems a fitting resolution.
Thank you in advance for any help, advice etc

Good morning and Happy New Year,
CBT worked for me, however I guess everyone is different.
It works by taking you out of a situation kind of like thinking outside the box (pardon the catchphrases!). For example if a situation is causing you stress or anxiety CBT teaches you to ratioalise this by weighing up best and worst outcomes and making action plans to resolve.
I hope that helps.
I would speak to your GP who will refer you or provide you with further info/options.

Living life to the full is an online NHS endorsed CBT programme. It is free and you can work through it at your own pace. This would let you see if it is an approach that would work for you and is empowering for yourself if you can resolve it. The website is llttf.com I think. If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0

Thanks for the link, I have never managed to work out how to do them on the tablet or phone. It is definitely a .com address and can be found by googling living life to the full NHS.If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0 -

Some years ago my GP arranged for me to do a CBT course called "Beat The Blues" as part of my treatment for depression. It was computer-based, I worked on it alone for one hour a week, 6 weeks plus some "homework". I found it difficult but really worth doing and even now, 8 years later and in much better health, I still make use of the techniques I learned.
Beat the Blues has probably been superseded by something else but whatever is available now I would say give it a go, you've nothing to lose except a few hours.0
