actually i think it is showing but not as the name. there is a section in disk management that says disk 1 with a icon of a square with a red arrow pointing down, under that says unknown then under that say not initialized.0

there is no power supply as its a y shape usb which i have replaced as i thought the wire had broke.0

Do you have any other computers available apart from the laptop?
You've removed the drive from its enclosure, so you need to either;
Place it in a USB caddy and connect it to a USB port on your laptop (make sure the ports are clean and not clogged with dust)
or
Place it as a secondary drive in a desktop PC
and try and access it that way0 -
