My DD is a great fan and is always selling outgrown children's clothes and toys on the Facebook swap/sell site.. Selling to local people is much easier than using ebay and having to post things, she says. Mind you, most of the money she makes gets used to buy things off there too!!

Sounds like a really good idea, I'm going to get my act together, I want to get rid of loads of stuff before we find somewhere new to move. I think both Daddy Rivett and I would like a fresh start.

  • Hi PEONY the Dockling is absolutely fine today, you wouldn't know he'd done a thing unless you'd seen it yesterday! He's in fine fettle and has done 2 x 2 hour walkies too which is pretty good for a nearly 11 year old. He's NOT going to enjoy fireworks tonight but we've dosed him for the last week or so with his calming valerian pour on and we'll get the house ready with his den made up and the music on in the study so he has somewhere he feels safe to go. We had fireworks here too late on Christmas Day and I wasn't at all impressed, neither was he!!!

Mrs LW I have been thinking of Dockie all day as fireworks have been going off since about 8 this morning. The Dutch can only buy and let off fireworks for a few days a year so they go mad for them. It sounds like a war zone!

Happy New year to all you lovely people, May your troubles be left in 2014. Take care. Xx
  • Have just done a freezer stocktake, in readiness for my first ever Grocery Challenge, and discovered that I've accumulated 17 chicken fillets! I don't need to cook a main meal for a few days as we are out and about but I think Sunday and Monday will be chicken based dinners.
  • Well the house is sparkly, bed changed, took 2 loads of laundry to the launderette and got them dried, ironed and in the airing cupboard. Beef stew for supper........will not be staying up tonight, we will probably still be awake at midnight.

Not sure what 2015 is going to hold for us. 2014 has not been a very good year having to move twice in 6 months has put a strain on the finances and we have to get back to a level plating field. My arthritis is not good, we have the forms to apply for sheltered housing, but my GD who works at the council says there are long waiting list for the three units we would prefer, so we are playing a waiting game. Forms will go in during the next couple of weeks.

Beef stew for supper tonight, back to simple food after the excesses of the festive season.

I also want to send special good wishes to all the emergency services working tonight particularly Churchmouse's son who works so hard to keep us safe.
Look after yourselves and please, treasure every day.
    HAPPY NEW YEAR.xxxx
Blind as you run...aware you were staring at the sun.

And when no hope was left inside on that starry starry night.
