                    Hi All,
I'm currently in the process of selling my property for the 4th time in a year(long Story). Assuming it goes ok this time we are considering taking some of the stress out of the move and putting us in a stronger negotiating position by going in to rented accommodation for a few months as a kind of chain break.
Before buying my current house I was in rented for around 4 years and each place I rented had a 6 month minimum term.
My question is can you get property with a shorter minimum term, 3 months would be ideal or am I stuck with 6 months?
Thanks in advance,
Webmister22

When attempting to rent, ask if you can go for 3 months as the intial trial and if things going well you'd want a rolling monthly contract. That way the landlord will think you are someone who's going to rent long term.
As msot landlords dont want to be looking for tenants every few months, hence the 6-12 month tenancy agreements.
There will be some at 3 months, but not many at a guess. Just ring up a letting agency and ask them whats available for 3 months and then you'd get an idea, as your area will also affect whether landlords are prepared to accept 3 month tenants.0

you certainly can, but im not sure where you are. Short-lets are very common in london, foxtons definately do them ,as do a few other agents I know of.
If you have gumtree in your area, that might throw some stuff up?
Are you certain tho that you only want 3 months? it barely gives you time to unpack, and if you are buying somewhere else you can expect that the conveyancing process will be 3 months minimum, of course we hear of people who it takes a lot longer.
therefore Id think that 6 months is much better, as you dont truly know how long it will take to buy somewhere else  Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
 This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0

You'll surprised just how quickly three months goes. I'd settle with six months and take your time looking to ensure you get the right place at the right price. )Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

            Hi All,
Thanks for all of the advice received so far. I'm in Warrington Cheshire for all those who've asked what area I'm in.
The reason I say 3 months is that I'm part way through a 5 fixed mortgage and the early redemption penalty is over £2000 but there is a clause that if I take out a new mortgage with the lender within 3 months the redemption fee will be waived.
We've seen a few new builds we like and there ready to move in to so hopefully things will be able to happen within these timescales.
 Cheers,
 Webmister220
