The mag dailies are the ones where you answer a question and then get (usually) the Video to watch.

The CTW's are ones where you just enter your email address (and sometimes a Captcha)

ie : http://winit.winsomething.co.uk/sweepstakes (These are an example of a Click to win)

http://comps.chatmagazine.co.uk/competition/network_peppa_pig.php (this is a mag daily)

There's a good post, that hasn't been updated for a while ... but it lists the CTW sites and the Mag daily sites (the comps listed are all out of date, but the sites are still valid)

There's also a Mag daily thread, but I don't ever look at that one, Im sure it's in the Regular Competitions forum.

Some sites do have mag daylies and click to wins, but they are different in that one you just put in your email and the other you answer a question. (I think that's right, but I'm a bit drunk at the moment :) )

    Aha, gotcha, thanks, sleepy!
Turns out I've been doing both on and off, depending on time and prizes. There are some good ones at the mo, and considering my anti-NYE early night has been thwarted by one kid having nightmares about her wobbly tooth and the other still feeding several times a night, I'm wide awake and may as well crack on with a few now!

Good luck to everyone this year!
Started comping May 2014- 26 wins so far.
    Best wins
Baby swimming kit, Kindle Fire HD, VIP Disney on Ice tix, £75 Love2shop vouchers,
    November wins
baby snack hamper, Capital One football, deodorant
    COMPING GOAL - 50 prizes in 12 months 26/50

I enter them every day but I don't think it's that important to do so, only if you really have the spare time. When you imagine the thousands of other people's entries for one draw, I can't imagine that an additional 29 entries (if a draw's open for around a month) after your first one will improve your chances that much. I've had some nice prizes that I entered for daily but also a couple that I only entered for once.

Well you could have 1 entry, or you could have 30 entries.
If , as I assume, they pick the winner at random from the valid entries, then if you have 30 entries you are more likely to win than if you only entered once.

So you could enter 100 times and spend hours entering it, when a person wins who only entered once, spending 3 minutes entering wins it ... It's the luck of the draw, it's like buying 1 lottery ticket vs buying 100 lottery tickets ... it only takes one.

    Luck of the draw

(This might be drunken rambling, not sure how drunk I am :D )

I think the reason that you say the post has not been updated for a while is because it was moved to game over when Sophie stopped doing it and Katie took over. There is an updated post by Katie here:

  • I had a really good run of them when I originally started comping in 2012. I even won 3 prizes in one day.

Ive only come back to comping recently, but have started to enter them again. Most days, but not everyday.

I dont bother with CTW anymore as there were sooooo many and they got soooo tedious to enter, I just couldn't be bothered.

Someone did say to me that they would rather enter 100 different comps once than one comp 100 times. That made sense to me. Though I still enter mags most days. I have to be really busy not to find that hour (Christmas day was the last day I missed)

Regarding the limits, I tried to check this on the sites as I have a few I like to enter on Marie Clare, but none of them say a limit any more. Have they stopped?
Current Aims: Laptop/PC, decent money, holiday
Best Wins: Ipad, Nintendo 3DS, £400 Shopping Spree at LK Bennett, £100 Boots vouchers
Total Wins (Since April 2012) £3442.56
Big thanks to all who post comps :T:beer:

    , s

No, there are still limits, but for most of them, the limit is 25, whereas they used to be limited to 6, so there is less need to share.
  • Where does it tell you for each site? I can't find it anywhere. Used to be in Home after you had signed in, but its not anywhere now. That's why I was wondering. If I wanted to enter 30, Id like to know before I got to the end and couldn't enter any more. Id rather not have to share them if I didn't need to

I wouldn't give up on Twitter either. In the 7 weeks I was comping in 2015 (returning after a long break) 8 out of my 16 wins were from Twitter. Sure they weren't tvs but they were all wanted - booze, jewellery etc

I try to enter on the closing date and I generally reply as well - plus I make sure my Twitter account has other stuff other than just comping on it. I love my little Twitter wins - but am looking at mags now to add to what I already do.
    Comps £2016 in 2016 - 1 wins = £530 26.2%

I don't know about on the mag website, but it tells you in this thread

What you could do is open up the sharing link for say twitter, then minimise the window until you get a message saying you have used all your entries, then open the minimised window and start sharing.
