in Credit cards
Hi, I just posted this in the wrong forum.
Hi everyone
So, I just got a little promotion at work today (yay) which means we will be about £50 a month better off.
Part if the promotion means I get a company credit card as I will have to be out of the workplace more often and it is to be used for expenses and trips.
But, I am on a DMP.
One of my creditors is Natwest and this is who the company credit card would be with.
Does anyone know if this will be a problem? I have to fill this form in tomorrow and return it to HR so they can get me the card but I am so worried Natwest will say to my employers that I am ona DMP and cannot have a credit card. Also, is this in breach of my DMP with stepchange?
Dont really want anyone to know about the DMP
Thanks

If it's a company card, then I assume you are simply issued an additional card on their account. Have you not received any details about it amongst the paperwork?0

all i have been given is a form to fill in my name and address etc. no info with it.
Yes it is a card on their account.
My question is, will natwest, which is who the card will be with, be bothered that I personally am on a DMP and some of the debts included on the DMP are with natwest.
will natwest credit check me?
anyone know?

Your company will settle it's account in full every month. So while it's a credit card it won't be used as such. The expenses you charge to the card will relate to the performance of your business duties. There's no reason therefore for this to be connected to your personal situation.0

Hi shopnomore,
Not entirely related to your case but when I got my company credit card a few years ago I WAS credit checked and the onus for paying it off is on my head (if the company doesn't do my expenses quick enough, I have to pay the minimum payment out of my account).
My credit card, is however, Citibank and has my personal name attached to the front of it rather than a business name.
Sorry I can't be more helpful!0 -
Hi,
and unlike Dublte my experience is the opposite. My company card was not credit checked against me, and do not report to the CRAs. Also there's no minimum payment as such - it has to be paid in full every month. It also has my personnel name attached, it's just that the company underwrite it.
My guess is that Natwest wouldn't care if the company underwrite it, but clearly experiences differ...0 -
I had a company credit card (with a different bank than Natwest) and I was not credit checked when I was issued with it.
Natwest might do an Identification Check and/or an Anti-Money Laundering search to verify your identity, probably not even that, and that won't be a hard search, just an id check.
Since your company settles the card and you are just a card holder you should not be credit checked, only the main account holder is, which in this case is your employer.0 -
I had a natwest company cc with my old job and I was jot credit checked nor did it show on any CRA. Im sure it had my name on it but I might be mistaken, I wssnt even aware I was getting it until my first day when I was presented with it.0

Not true, many companies expect their employees to pay the bill out of the expenses they claim. The onus is on the employee to keep all receipts and all finances up to date and pay the card.0
