From where you bought is there real Samsung distributor. If they have right you may complain to Samsung office or you can take suggestion of a Lawyer.0

Samsung will say, contact the retailer.
Lawyer will say, sure, I'll take your money, now that the clock's ticking, we can discuss options at length - or if he's nice, he'll say, don't waste your time, but a new battery.0 -
Thanks to everyone for your suggestions. Decided to buy replacement battery but how can you tell which are genuine? They are £21 on Samsung's site but vary in price on-line from as little as £3.74. Don't want to have same problem again....0

It's unlikely one at 3.74 will be genuine.
The anker one is £11.99 on amazon at the moment and well regarded. Not an official One obviously, but they specialise in making batteries and charging products0
