I purchased some rings from Rebecca Portley, trading as Pip Portley at The Spring Fair in Islington. They cost approximately £300 and Pip Portley would only accept cash. The gemstones fell out almost immediately, but trying to return them to Pip Portley for repair has been impossible. She would not accept them at the next fair and refused to accept delivery to an address she supplied. Have I lost my £300? Thank you.

I can only assume the address Rebecca Portley gave me was not her address and that was how she managed to get out of accepting the delivery for repair. This forced Royal Mail to return the package to sender after three weeks sitting in a sorting office. So I do not have her address. Thank you very much for your reply though.0

Google "Pip Portly contact" - there's an address on the exhibitors list website., Don't know if that's of the organisers or of the artist herself. She is Sussex based though, so might be worth a go?"Science is a wonderful thing if one does not have to earn one's living at it" Einstein 19510

You could also try contacting the local Trading Standards - they may be able to help.

I've just found this on google....

Would that be a contact address for her?"I may be many things but not being indiscreet isn't one of them"0 -
THANK YOU VERY MUCH EVERYONE. I can now take this further. Happy New Year.0

Maybe it is better in the long run to spend say £30 to £50 on a decent guaranteed repair by an established local shop than waste time and money possibly fruitlessly chasing PP.
Keep chasing PP but don't spend more time and effort than it is worth.0 -
