Google Drive autosync

So I can copy all my pictures over now, put if I take 100 more and put them into the 'Pictures' folder on my PC, I have to manually copy them to Google Drive.
You have to do someting yourself!
The idea is you have an app that keeps things synced between the Google Drive folder on your PC and the cloud.
It can't guess for itself what you want kept synced. You do have to move what you want on the cloud to be in the Google Drive folder on your pc.
Some of the apps like iCloud Drive do pick up your pictures if you select as an option in the app. But I tend to think that is risky. You should have some control (i.e. know what you are syncing).
If you intend to keep things in the cloud, you should just MOVE the files into the Google Drive folder, not copy them. You only need the one single copy on your PC (i.e. whatever is the Google Drive folder).0 -

You make it sound like it's an unreasonable request. I'm not saying I want my entire PC to back up to Google Drive, but there should be a way to auto sync certain folders like Pictures, Documents, and Music with the service, as this is the content that people will miss most if you're hard drive craps out.
I shouldn't have to manually copy a file into the good drive folder every time I add it to my PC or update it.0 -

Its not unreasonable. Its just not what I would do with Google Drive. I have tried Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive and iCloud Drive - each has certain features that the other might not have.
I use iCloud Drive now - it has something called Photostream - I don't like it and it still requires a new folder to exist on your PC and I am not even sure if it will sync My Pictures folder automatically (probably will knowing Apple) but I don't want that myself.
The reason I chose iCloud in the end - because it has some other niche features the others do not offer. On negative side, its not great when you want to access the cloud storage in browser.0
