Home Cinema DVD with surround Sound

Thanks Foxyloxy, that is a great help. The amp. is built into the subwoofer - it has 5.1 phonos in (six of them i.e. one for each channel e.g. front left) and hence expects the DVD player to do the DD/DTS decode.
There are no options for other inputs to the amp. They have the internet on computers now!!!0 -
Does anyone know whether the bush dvd player supports 'DTS' surround sound, I know the amazon specs say it does but I have my doubts as there is no mention of 'DTS' support anywhere in the instructions or packaging. Plus isn't there generally a 'DTS' logo on the front of any compatible equipment. DTS is a higher standard of surround sound than Dolby Digital.0

Bit of a mixed bag really - the DVD player can output DTS over co-ax digital or optical digital outs but does not decode it itself and hence does not output it over the 6 phonos and therefore you do not get sound out of the amp on a DTS soundtrack.Does anyone know whether the bush dvd player supports 'DTS' surround sound, I know the amazon specs say it does but I have my doubts as there is no mention of 'DTS' support anywhere in the instructions or packaging. thanks foxylady, bit confused. I gather that if I put DTS dvd in the bush player it wont work properly? It would only work if I put it through a DTS decoder on say a posh amp first. Hence the amazon specs were wrong?:)0

That's foxyloxy
You are correct the setup as its stands will not play a DTS soundtrack - you would need an amp with a DTS decoder.
The amazon seller "madharys" spec. is somewhat misleading.

They must have either sold out or realised their misprice, as it doesn't appear now.I don't believe and I never did that two wrongs make a right0

great item, great price & great find, thanks. Brand spanking new and well packed. Setup was ok, took me a while to suss out I had to press down quite hard on the "little" remote to get the speakers to kick out something loud but works really well on me bedroom 26" lcd.
