MS Office stopped working

On my daughters laptop all the MS Office products have just stopped working. Its Office 2013 running on Win 8.1. Tried all usual stuff with updates etc. The programs are still there but when you click on them, or on a Word or Powerpoint file for example, nothing happens at all, no error message nothing.
Any suggestions please?

That's because it was a Trial.

No it was the full Home & Student 2013 Office package bought with the laptop when purchased back in October.

Would you have to download the MS Office Compatability Pack?

No I appear to have the full installation. When trying to log on to the account it says the installation is not associated with the account.

Right click icon and check that the target is set in the path for Office. Perhaps 8.1 mucked the path up.

Sure you didn't buy Office 365 University and you're now logging into Windows 8.1 with a different Microsoft account from that used to install Office 2013 programs?

Or go into control panel/programs and features, select office and choose repair.

Sorry for late reply, got distracted last few days. Thanks Laz123, another friend also suggested this and it seems to have worked.
