blackhorse transferred me to hillsden

Options
I have been paying but behind as struggling with my money now working at two jobs trying to keep up with my finances,

Blackhorse agreed to let me pay £100 for a 3 months to clear some other bills, they made out that they were helping me

then when I called them after the three months and asked for a few more months the guy on the phone said if you are struggling we are not allowed to put you into a difficult position (words to that effect)
then told me my account had been transferred to hillsden that I would be receiving a letter from them soon ,
I asked who they are? he replied they work on the same principle as Blackhorse
I explained I wasn't happy and going to complain because they were making out helping me and then do this,

a week later I get a call from Blackhorse and I explained referring to complaints and they said that hillsden are a debt collector the first person did not tell me this

Blackhorse have offered to review their charges and look at the outstanding secured loan , lesser the amount owing

and I am waiting there reply
although i did state that I may not agree and and may still complain

as I have been working 7 days a week its a struggling to keep them updated but I have more or less

GE MONEY I have my mortgage with I have been on repayment only for about 4 years now

I think I need to get a solicitor but cant afford it what are my best options with Blackhorse and hillsden?

since this has occurred ive been inundated wit calls and messages for other companies about debts and loans

I could most probably of gone bankrupt but wanted to pay my debts off I have been struggling since 2007
but increased my income and working more :(

I have worked all my life don't want to lose my home <(

Firstly, you need to establish what this is. You seem to think that it is a secured loan with Black Horse. But it would be unusual for a secured loan to be put with a DCA - as you know the lender would have the right to ask the court for possession of your property, which they would then sell.

Check at the Land Registry. A copy of the title register costs £3

    https://eservices.landregistry.gov.uk/www/wps/portal/!ut/p/b1/04_SjzS0tDQwMTIxMjLXj9CPykssy0xPLMnMz0vMAfGjzOKNjSxMDA1NjDwsjM3MDTxN3dyNDUNMjQ1MjPWDU_P0c6McFQH3SLFU/

Where you go from there depends on whether BH have a registered charge or not. But stay away from solicitors.

Has this actually been assigned (sold) to Hillesden?

They do have a right to assign the rights to an external company, a solicitor cant do anything about this. Just offer what you can afford, if they annoy you ask about the chicken factory they own
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.
  • I don't think you can complain about the fact they have instructed collectors for a debt you owe?

They can use a DCA if they want to.

Maybe look on the Stepchange website, they have a calculator that can help you decide on the best course of action.

It just seems unusual to either sell a secured debt at a discount to a third party (unless BH is in trouble financially, which I don't think it is) or use a DCA to harass someone who has a secured loan, when they can just exercise their rights to a possession order.

That's what was making me think it could be unsecured, and the difference is chalk and cheese.

However, debt advice is a shifting scene and if Secured lenders are now treating their debts like unsecured ones then I'll live and learn. The 2 questions for now are

    is it secured or unsecured?
is Hillesden (DLC) the new owner or just an agent for Black Horse?

Blackhorse were acting as helping by saying ok not to pay the full monthly payment for a few months helping me t o get on top

so I would think that as they agreed to this and then decided to put me with hillsden would appear as misleading me

I wasnt happy and said I am making a complaint for misleading me

maybe they are hoping I can find the funds at a reduced outstanding amount they have previously added a lot of charges on the account when they knew I was struggling

which I would like to maybe remortgage if ever possible :(
when my other debtors are assisting me and stopped interest
