scrolling freezes?!

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help me with this one?
Every day now, at least a couple of times my laptop won't scroll up and down, the cursor still moves but the scroll thingy on the right won't let me go up and down and the up and down keys don't work either.
I have to either refresh or go to another tab and back again to get it moving again.
I've had this laptop for about 3 months and yes, its Windows 8 :eek:
I am a computer numpty
