Where does it connect to/from? Isn't it just phone cable? Can't you just coil it up out of the way?0

i think its an Ntl cable from what you describe, if so dont attempt to cut and shorten yourself as the engineers use a special tool to put the end on the cable. I did it once and knackered it, luckily a friend lent me the cat 5 tool to put the end on. They can only be used once, so he gave me a few of them as well.
I have nothing better to do!!!!

Sorry but you have been misinformed by people on this thread.
It is not Cat5 cable, it is satellite cable that has a silver " F " connector on the end.
NTL/Virgin use a crimping tool to fit theirs, but a screw on type will be fine, you can get them at Maplins... B&Q etc. for a few pennies.
Or you can get a ready made lead on a well known auction site.;)0 -
Do we know if it is an NTL (or other cable provider) connection and not a BT one?0

I'd coil it out of the way.
Sure as fate, at some point, probably quite soon after you cut it, you'll realise that you need it longer - and joining 2 cables is more difficult than cutting one!
Keen photographer with sales in the UK and abroad.
