External hard drive

Options
Hi

I have a external hard drive connected to my home hub, its been connected for a couple of days now but i keep getting random files on it like recycling bin, and system volume information. Can someone tell me what these files are and why there on my E-hard drive.

Thank you.

You can choose not to display these system files.

In Win 7, Explorer, Tools, Folder Options, View, select "don't show hidden files, folders etc."
  • Thanks guys, its odd to me as i don't feel that a computer should be able to just put stuff on a External hardrive.

Windows puts that "stuff" on every hard drive it knows about.
