Thanks for posting. I think this will be where I pretty much bow out of Swagbucks. Well, it's been a good couple of years and I will have had £850 from them when I redeem my final gift card. If I can only get 40sb from apps, there is no hope of me ever meeting my daily target. I'm not going to rely on 'maybe' being rewarded with these extra rounds because I guarantee they'll only happen on some days and not others. If I start, I will feel obliged to force myself to meet goal on the slow days. The apps have also become a total nightmare to use with these ads and needing babysitting all day long.

What with games being so difficult, search wins have been reduced to 1 a day- there just is no point for me anymore. It was good like it lasted, but SB has gone the way of STP. SB can try to big it up all they like in their blog post, but they have not made it easier to earn. They have sacrificed their loyal users in an attempt to gain more. I think it says a lot that not a single one of my 12 referrals is active anymore; most lasted 5 minutes, but even the ones that gave it a good try have realised it's not worth the effort.

I'm glad I've found out on the 1st day of the month, so I've nothing to lose by stopping here. I'm going on holiday in a couple of weeks anyway, so I wouldn't have been swagging the full month. I will take it right back to just earning 20-30sb a day from the simplest clicks and see if it really impacts my earnings that much. I mean, I'm only making £25 a month now, down from £50+. If the difference is negligible then it's definitely time to pretty much forget about SB.

I appreciate all the input on this thread over that time, over and out.

I fully agree with you, with the apps one search and the couple off odds I can get about 110SB's a day, I'm not bothering with surveys, a daily survey takes about 20 minutes for 70 sb's when you turn that into cash it is 35pence, that equates to me working for swagbucks for £1.05p per hour, not going to happen, they have deprived us of some apps, encrave, swag point the quick single videos and lots more. In my view they are getting very tight or are have financial problems.

I agree with Fragmented, i get my three search wins and my 10sb from games EVERYDAY since i committed to SB.

Surveys are where u get your biggest earnings. If you not prepared to do them the very most u'l collect per day is 150-200. In the past 30 days ive earned 8,621 sb for Answers. Thats averaging 287 sb per day from peanut lab, gold and daily surveys(laptop guy not GTM)

from those 287sb's you would get £1.44p in paypal, how long does it take you to complete those surveys?

Totally agree too - and the apps need baby sitting now because some ads just sit there until you manually have to close them. I'm happy for a few pence here and there if its little effort and you are doing it at the same time as something else but when you start 'working' for 50p an hour - you have to take a look in the mirror and wonder if there are better uses of your time.

I understand why there are adverts etc- swagbucks has to make money... but the UK site is very much an after thought compared to the US offers.

Like everything, it was good whilst it lasted. I'll continue for now but I never do surveys and so I do not expect to make anything other than 'beer money' on this going forward.

Just to rub salt into the would after the debacle that yesterday was, on the day they remove the bonus 1SB for having the swagbutton installed in favour of promised extra swagcodes, they didn't actually give us a swagcode - or did I miss something?

No you missed nothing, though the US and Canada both had two codes.

The swagback is for gift cards ordered from today until 31st July I think. :(

Hopefully though that should give you time to earn enough to order another one and get your sb.

Could you pls remind me of the start date for this? I might have ordered mine too early last week

They probably need more balance for their business model to work. Seems they need people to rely less on aps and commit to doing 1 or 2 surveys a day. I did surveys (and sometimes enjoyed them) but I dropped off once I installed the aps.

If you placed your redemption order last week, it was definitely too early.

Redemptions eligible for rebates started on 1 July (and that would be from 8 am 1 July because of the time difference with the US).

Did you complete or get DQ'd from surveys every day, Monday to Friday, last week?

Yep, gotta say I'm with Wizzbang and Phil etc here. I'll let it run this month and switch to AGCs instead of paypal to see what comes of doing the minimum, but it's the cash thats most useful to me.

As Phil illustrates, it's too much effort for too little reward to spend hours on surveys and babysitting etc. Stick my little ones in front of a TV so I can do surveys for a £1 p/h and compromise their development?? Sorry, can't/won't do that. I realise its very different for everyone, but it won't work for me. Like Wizzbang, many thanks to everyone who patiently offers so much help here. In the short time I've been more involved, you've all been wonderful!

BTW, for those of you also looking for other ways and don't already know about it, I highly recommend another board re: save £10 a day challenge. Its always stuffed with fab ideas and like here, has some of the loveliest posters I've had the pleasure to encounter. They are extremely welcoming and kind ;)

Swagbucks and GPT sites are not meant to be an alternative to paid work. Even the best paid online work (Mturk for the Americans) rarely pays off £6 an hour, though I made the occasional good $10 in less than an hour on Crowdflower.

And Swagbucks apps are not entirely passive. If you want something almost passive, you need Perk Pop Quiz, but my feeling is that won't last long either.
